Window tint will keep you cool (and healthy) this summer

Window tint may be seen by many as purely aesthetic, but it has other benefits apart from making your look good.

Window film applied to your car can block up to 99% of the sun’s harmful UV rays. Unlike an un-tinted car window which absorbs and distributes the sun’s rays into your car, a window with tint on reflects the harmful rays away. Even though the tint reflects these rays it still lets visible light through, so it won’t affect your vision from inside the car.

I’ve explained how window tint helps reflect UV rays – so why is this a good thing? A recent article by The Skin Cancer Foundation goes so far as to say that window film applied to your car can help reduce the risk of damage to skin and skin cancer. This is especially relevant to babies or young children travelling in the rear of the car where a dark shade of window film can be applied.

By blocking out UV rays, window tint also helps to reduce fading and cracking to your car’s interior – keeping it looking as good as new.

UV rays also cause your car to heat up. By reflecting them, window tint helps keep your car cool on those hot (and not so hot) summer days.
